1.    Online Privacy Practices

Your right to privacy is important to us and we are committed to safeguarding your personal privacy while providing the highest possible quality of Service.

We are fully registered under the Data Protection Act 1998 (“the Act”) and ensure we comply with all protection the Act affords to you.

2.    Information We Collect

After registration, you will be able to complete an online Questionnaire in respect of any Service that you wish to order. The information you provide will enable us to deliver any Service that you order, and to communicate with you.

The information you provide will be kept confidential and will be used only to support your client relationship with us.

3.    Third Parties

We do not rent or sell individual information to any third parties.

We do not disclose individual information to any third parties except as described below:
  • Where the Service so Requires: Some Services, such as the Divorce Decree Search, may entail sharing information with third parties such as court staff. We will not disclose any information to third parties unless instructed by our clients and in such cases we will supply only the information needed to perform the Service.
  • Third Party Service Providers: Some Services, such as the Marriage Certificate Translation Service, involve us employing the services of suitably qualified and experienced third party providers to perform all or certain aspects of Services ordered. Such third party service providers will be subject to confidentiality agreements where appropriate which limit their use and disclosure of all information they may obtain, in a manner that is consistent with this policy.
  • Legal Requests: We will make any disclosures we are legally required or entitled to make under any enactment, rule of law or by order of court.
  • If we publish any testimonials received on our website we will only add a first name, and possibly a broad location (e.g. John from Bradford)

4.    Security

Making sure you can order safely online is one of our highest priorities, and we have devoted a great deal of effort to ensure that our online security measures help to safeguard your information.
  • We process all credit and debit card payments through a secure payment gateway, thereby ensuring your debit or credit card details are transmitted securely to our bankers.
  • We do not access or store your credit or debit card details.
We use industry-standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to allow for the encryption of:

(a)    potentially sensitive information such as your name and address; and

(b)    critically-sensitive information like your credit card number.

We are committed to preserving the confidentiality of communications between us and our clients. The Questionnaires you fill in online are password protected for your privacy and can only be viewed by the associated user name and password until they are completed and submitted to us. The contents of the Questionnaires only become available to the personnel of josiah-lake gardiner LLP, or its authorised sub-contractors, when you have ordered a Service by making payment and have completed the Questionnaire and submittted it to us online.

We hope that once you understand the measures we take to help ensure secure transactions and privacy, and the steps you can take yourself, you will be as happy about the safety of your online transaction and order information as we are.

We have no desire to infringe your privacy while using our site and we will never provide your personal information to anyone else except if we sell our business in whole or in part.
