There are five different grounds for divorce, all of which we cover, as long as they are undefended, which means that both you and your spouse have to agree with every decision in the legal process.

You must also ensure that the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction to accept your divorce petition, which is based on habitual residence and domicile.

You may still be able to get divorced in England and Wales even if you and/or your spouse presently live abroad, or even if you were married abroad.

You could instruct a solicitor to do everything for you, but you would then incur legal costs, probably in excess of £1,000. Or you could go it alone as a Litigant in Person.  This avoids solicitors’ bills, but can become time consuming and frustrating, especially if your case runs into difficulties.

That’s where we come in. Our online service will guide you through every step of the divorce process, but at a fraction of the cost of a traditional solicitor, and with all the reassurance of a professional organisation.

We will explain exactly what you need to do, and when you need to do it. We will prepare everything the court needs to process your petition, and we will tell you exactly what documents you need to supply and what payments need to be made, when you need to make them.

To help you to determine whether you qualify for a divorce in England and Wales, we have prepared detailed fact sheets dealing with the issues you need to consider.
