What our online solicitor services cost

What our online solicitor services cost

Justdivorce.co.uk card payment services are provided by RBS Worldpay.

Solicitors

Most solicitors calculate their charges by applying an hourly rate, which means that you won’t know what the final cost will be until the end of the case.

Justdivorce.co.uk

Our charges are transparent, fixed and include VAT so you know exactly how much you will need to pay before you order any of our services. There are no hidden extras and the final price will be confirmed before you place your order. Provision of all our services is subject to our terms and conditions, which you should read carefully before placing an order. There is no surcharge on credit card payments.

Undefended Divorce – Our Fee

All costs include VAT.

£259    if there are no children under 18

£289    if there are no children under 18 and your divorce petition is based on your spouse’s unreasonable behaviour

£309    if there are children under 18

£339    if there are children under 18 and your divorce petition is based on your spouse’s unreasonable behaviour.

In the unlikely event that we need to arrange for the court bailiff to serve your divorce petition personally on your spouse (because he/she refuses to cooperate), an additional fee of £50 will apply.

Undefended Divorce – Other Costs

£300    Court fee on issue of your divorce petition

£40    Court fee on application for a decree absolute of divorce

£7-£9 Affidavit fee – this fee will very probably be higher if you reside abroad

£100    Additional court fee per person to be served if you need to apply for bailiff service of your divorce petition

Legal Aid

In certain circumstances, you may qualify for a limited form of legal aid - for example, if you receive Income Support, income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance, state pension guarantee credit, working tax credit with no element of child tax credit, or if your gross annual income does not exceed a specified limit.

In these instances, you may not have to pay a court fee, or you may only need to pay a contribution towards the total cost. You might also be able to obtain a reduction if you could show that the payment of a court fee would create undue hardship.

You can find out more information by visiting www.hmcourts-service.gov.uk and reading Form EX160A – Court Fees – Do I have to pay them?

However, our service is only suitable for people who are willing to pay court fees in full. If you wish to apply for exemption from the payment of court fees, then you should not order our service.
